MMAD’s Sounding Board serves as a critical support network of MMAD. The Sounding Board are the bridge between governance and ambitious strategic goals that enhance frontline impact.
Members of the Sounding Board share their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge and perspectives; their connections to local, national or international resources, colleagues or peers; their philanthropic support or other forms of needed assistance.
The Sounding Board:
• Provides a means for involving people who are willing to give critical assistance, even if they have limited time
• Provides a way to keep critical supporters connected to the organisation
• Creates a direct link to important professional and technical expertise
• Energises members as ambassadors for the organization in the community
• Recognises individuals for their distinguished service
• Assists in efforts to increase philanthropic and corporate support
• Enlists help from others without enlarging the governing board structure
Members are:
• Elected by directors of the board
Expectations:
• Act annually in some significant way to support the charity’s mission, conditional on your availability (e.g., expert advice virtually or in-person, opportunities or connections, funding or fundraising)
• Allow the charity to publicise your name as a board advisor
• Consider the needs of the charity as opportunities may arise during your everyday life
